Professional background –
Melody Mason is a fine art photographer with a background in commercial photography and video production.
Her photographic training comes from a variety of New York schools including the International Center of Photography,
School of Visual Arts and the New York Institute of Photography. She started her career with the New York City studio
of Bachrach Photographers. Her free-lance work includes original photography and video created for theater and
dance productions as well as for a variety of publications.
With skills acquired through her years of commercial work, she explores photography as a form of artistic expression. Through an initial series of photo collages, she discovered and began refining her personal vision of the world. The “Reflected Realities” series and the “Elemental Watercolor” series along with many other abstract images have come out of her commitment to pursue that vision. She lives in Western Massachusetts and continues to create new work.
